Activity Starting Point:
Start the activity at the statue. However, take care; the main road is very busy and may be tricky to cross, and there is limited space around the statue.

What you will need

Pencils, paper and a rubber. A camera or camera phone to capture reference shots would also be a good idea.

How long will the activity take? :
As there is limited space around the statue to sit or stand and sketch for a long period of time, you may prefer to only spend a short while taking the statue in, and capturing it with some reference shots on a camera or camera phone. This way, you can complete your sketches in a nearby café or at home.
There are toilets available at Green Lane car park
Top Tips:
You might want to select a range of pencils for this activity. Softer pencils – labelled ‘B’ – are great for fast, bold, instinctive marks, while harder pencils – labelled ‘H’ – are better for detail and lines.
